The second module of the course introduces students to the country, city and precise design location for the WTINE competition.
An interactive map introduces the students to Zambia. A video shows the students what life is like for children living on the streets in Kabwe and the work Zamda Ireland are doing to support these children at their school and emergency shelter, Sables Nua. Sables Nua is the WTINE design location for students. Students recap core points in an interactive quiz.
On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:
- Discuss economic, social, cultural and geographic aspects of life in Zambia, where the competition is currently focused
- Explain the work of EWB’s in-country partners Zamda Ireland and their school and emergency shelter Sables Nua in Kabwe
- Outline EWB’s long term goal for its partnership with Sables Nua
This course module takes approximately 15-20 minutes to complete.
