Nature Based Solutions Toolkit

The Nature Based Solutions (NBS) Toolkit, developed by our partners DTC Research Group at TU Dublin in collaboration with international experts in the field, allows users to learn about nature based solutions and develop a strategy to implement NBS in a single house, neighbourhood and community.

The nature based solutions link to the six core infrastructure needs of shelter, water management, used water management, waste management, food security, energy and comfort.

The initial exercise is for learners to draw what they visualize when they hear each of the core infrastructure terms, for example what you think of when you hear the word “shelter”. Learners then progress to the toolkit and start learning and creating.

The NBS Toolkit is a practical method for learning about sustainable development and how communities as well as engineers, architects, urban planners and other professionals can contribute to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
