Project Location
Overview
The second module of the course introduces students to the design location for the WTINE competition which is currently Kameswaram, Tamil Nadu, India.
An interactive map introduces students to the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Students learn about EWB’s partners Friend In Need India Trust (FIN), the history of sanitation in India and sanitation systems and behaviour in Kameswaram. Finally, learners are introduced to Ecosan toilets, a circular sanitation solution.
Students recap core points of the module in an interactive quiz.

Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:- Discuss economic, social, cultural and climatic aspects of life in Tamil Nadu
- Explain the work that FIN is doing in Kameswaram, India
- Discuss the sanitation situation in India & Kameswaram
- Explain how Ecosan toilets work and how they are a sustainable sanitation solution
